Deep tissue: This massage combines elements of relaxation with specific trigger point therapy on target areas. Deep Tissue Massage should not be confused with a deep pressure massage, which is all over sustained heavy pressure. Deep Tissue targets problematic areas and utilizes specific strokes to address such things as the insertion/origin of the muscles, tendon attachments, tension knots/trigger points, and fascia restriction. Typically there is more communication between the therapist and client during this session to assess pain and referral patterns than a relaxation massage.
Massage Cupping: Used for thousands of years, this eastern medicine technique uses cups with gentle suction to loosen the fascia of the skin to break up adhesions and scar tissue in the muscles and connective tissues. Massage cupping can be combined with deep tissue, sports and relaxation massage and I typically utilize it in every session.
Thai Massage: This modality is different from traditional massage in many ways but with all of the same benefits. Thai Massage is an ancient energy-based healing system that combines acupressure, reflexology, and assisted yoga postures. Traditional Thai massage uses no oils or lotions, and the recipient remains clothed during a treatment. The body is compressed, pulled, and stretched in order to clear energy blockages and relieve tension.
Bamboo Fusion: Enjoy hot stone? Then you'll love Bamboo Fusion! Like hot stone, bamboo tools are heated and used to work deeper into muscles and melt stress away. However, the bamboo can retain heat longer and leaves you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.
Swedish: This is the original relaxation massage that uses slower, flowing strokes to create a calming effect on the body's nervous system. Truly a great way to unwind and flush toxins from the muscles.
